Q: WHAT IS THE LET'S PLAY! METHOD BOOK?

A: The Let's Play! Method Book is built on many of the same concepts from our most highly regarded band method books. Some teachers may find that the Let's Play! approach doesn't move as 'fast' as other method books, but instead gives students more time to focus on tone production as they are guided through a greater variety of selections that first feature longer sounds.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS?

A: I'll be the first to admit that, aside from teaching beginning band for the last 17 years, I still do not feel qualified to write my own method book! That's why I rely heavily on input from users. Please let me know how Let's Play! can be more beneficial for your students!

Q: CAN I PRINT OUT THE LET'S PLAY! METHOD BOOK FOR MY BAND?

A: Absolutely! Everything in the book is public domain and I am making it available for free! After you open the book on your computer, click the download button, and print as many copies as you like. Also, feel free to direct students to access the book from their own devices if necessary.

Q: IS THIS LEGAL?

A: All the sheet music and pictures contained within The "LET'S PLAY!" METHOD BOOK is considered either public domain or "fair use". Ad revenue from links to copyrighted selections goes directly to the appropriate copyright holder.

Q: COULD YOU SEND ME PRINT COPIES OF THE UNLISTED COPYRIGHTED SELECTIONS?

A: The only way I've found to legally distribute this sheet music is through "Sheet Music Plus Press". Rehearsing these selections by having every student simultaneously access YouTube during class is obviously not ideal. My suggestion is to purchase print copies you can legally distribute to them to read from. You will be able to find these on the Songbird Music section of the SMPPress site here.

If you have experience teaching beginning band, or have devoted a great deal of your life to the study of Music Education, I would love to hear from you about how I could make the Let's Play! Band Method Series more effective to be used in rehearsal rooms. Please reach out via the contact tab at the top of this page.
